Essential Oils are one of those ‘essential’ things I have to have when traveling. I used to think Essential Oils were strictly for smell. Until I actually tried them for myself! I started bringing them along with me on trips and using them to help with different travel related ailments and now I can’t go anywhere without them! All 5 of these Essential Oils for travel are a part of the amazing Young Living Starter Kit (which is valued at over $400!), click here to check that out. And now, here are my Top 5 Must Have Essential Oils for Travel!
1.Thieves Essential Oil Blend
Most people have heard of Thieves. And many people have heard that it has amazing immune supporting benefits, but not many people know just what’s in the Thieves Essential oil blend and what makes it so great! The Thieves blend Essential Oil incorporates all the immune supporting powerhouse oils in one. Clove, Lemon, Cinnamon Bark, Eucalyptus, and Rosemary.
Thieves was originally formulated and used during the 15th century in the time of the Black Plague, and was said to keep the doctors that were treating patients from getting the plague themselves!
I don’t know about you, but I feel like immune support is super important, especially when traveling on a plane full of people coughing and sneezing all the time.
Here are some of the ways you can use Thieves Essential Oil while traveling:
- Create a Roller Bottle with Fractionated Coconut Oil and Thieves Essential Oil to roll on backs of ears, down the spine, bottoms of feet, and onto wrists before and while traveling.
- Put a few drops on your feet before heading out for the day
- Put a drop on your hands, rub them together, then cup your hands and breathe deeply
- Young Living has an amazing Thieves Hand Sanitizer, click here to check that out (you can buy the sanitizer at retail, or you can get the 1 oz bottle that comes in the Starter Kit along with 12 other oils by clicking here!)
- Add a drop to your toothbrush before brushing your teeth
- Take internally by putting a few drops of Thieves Vitality into a veggie capsule and taking with a glass of water
- If you reallyyyy love the smell like I do, Young Living has a whole amazing line of personal care and cleaning products using the Thieves blend! Click here to check that out! If you want to purchase this one, make sure to contact me first to be sure that you get 24% off everything for life!
And those are literally just a FEW of the many uses for Thieves Essential Oil. I never ever leave home without bringing this oil with me, and I can honestly say it’s helped me and my husband so much while traveling!
2. Panaway Essential Oil Blend
I often deal with a lot of headaches and aching muscles while traveling. I think it’s all the sitting while on the plane and while traveling from place to place. This oil blend has saved my day so many times! This blend combines so many of my favorite Essential Oils: Wintergreen, Peppermint, Clove and Helichrysum for a cooling, soothing and energizing effect.
Here are some of the best ways to use Panaway Essential Oil Blend:
- Diffuse a few drops during the day to help your mental focus
- Create a roller bottle with fractionated coconut oil and Panaway Essential Oil to roll on your temples, the back of your neck, or down your spine. I love putting some on my temples and on my forehead to help with headaches. Just be careful not to put it near your eyes!
- Put a few drops of Panaway and a few drops of Fractionated coconut oil in your hands, rub them together, and cup your hands together and take a few deep breaths.
This is my personal favorite Essential Oil because I struggle a lot with headaches and muscle pain, especially since we eat out a lot while traveling. Panaway has helped me so much!
3. Lavender Essential Oil
Not only does Lavender smell divine, it also has SO many amazing benefits! Lavender is very soothing, and is an absolute must have when traveling for helping with sunburns and bug bites!
Here are some of the ways you can use Lavender Essential Oil:
- Mix a few drops with your favorite moisturizer to help soothe your skin or to help with acne
- Mix several drops with aloe vera gel and apply to sunburn
- Apply after shaving to help with razor burn
- Put a drop on any sort of bug bite to help reduce swelling and help relieve itching
- Put a few drops on your hand and rub into your hair to help it to stay looking healthy
- Fight the occasional restlessness from time zone changes by adding a drop or two of Lavender Vitality to a nighttime tea to help improve sleep quality
4. Digize Vitality Essential Oil Blend
I don’t know about you, but airplane food always makes me sick. And sometimes, especially when traveling to foreign countries, a foreign meal can leave you feeling a little queasy. I love using Digize Vitality when I have any sort of stomach issues. Digize Vitality is a blend of Ginger, Tarragon, Peppermint, Juniper, Fennel, Lemongrass, Anise, and Patchouli essential oils.
Here are some great uses for Digize Essential Oil Blend:
- Rub a few drops on your stomach after eating a meal that didn’t sit right with you, or if you wake up with heartburn or indigestion
- Put a few drops of Digize Vitality in a veggie capsule and take internally to help with nausea from the inside!
- Put a few drops on your hands, rub them together, and then cup them and take several deep breaths. Just the smell of Digize helps to relieve nausea!
5. Stress Away Essential Oil Blend
Last, but absolutely not least, is Stress Away! I love the smell of this blend SO much. It smells like Lime and Vanilla, and I love dual using it as a perfume and as a way to combat stress. Stress Away is great for when a flight’s been delayed or things don’t go according to plan. Stress is something that’s a part of pretty much every trip unfortunately, and I love bringing Stress Away along for those crazy moments.
Here are some great ways to use Stress Away while traveling:
- Put a few drops on your wrists and rub them together to use as perfume and also to help with emotional stress during a trip
- Create a roller bottle with fractionated coconut oil and Stress Away and Lavender to use during the most stressful moments of your trip (we all have them!)
- Simply remove the lid from the bottle and take several deep breaths to combat stress
I would highly recommend keeping Stress Away as a staple in your travel bag at all times! I never leave home without this one, and I’m so thankful for it!
